Preventive
At Beattie Family Dental, we understand that prevention is always the key to health. Our priority for all of our patients is to help them keep their teeth healthy for a lifetime.  Helping our patients prevent problems before they happen is our goal.

Cosmetic
Making sure that your smile looks its best is our goal in all that we do.  At Beattie Family Dental, we use only the most cosmetic and natural looking restorative materials. That way your smile will look better that it ever has. And for that less than perfect smile, we have a variety of options to give you a more radient and confident smile.

Bleaching
Using only the most safe and effective bleaching techniques, we can transform an average looking smile to a stunning smile. We now offer the Saphire in-office, one-visit whitening.  Superior to Zoom whitening, Saphire whitening has drasticly less sensitivity and does not have the harmful UV radiation of Zoom whitening.  We have affordable options for teeth whitening that will allow you to have the smile you’ve always wanted.  Just ask us how!

Bonding
Bonding can be the best solution for some conditions that affect the looks of a smile.  Whether it’s chipped, misshapen, or discolored teeth that affect your smile, bonding can correct many cosmetic problems.  Bonding is a layer of resin, or plastic-like, material that is directly applied over the problem areas and bonded to the tooth (hence the name bonding). At your initial cosmetic evaluation, Dr. Beattie will discuss whether bonding is the best option for you.

Lumineers Veneers
Porcelain veneers may often be the best option for obtaining the optimal shape and whiteness of your smile.  Porcelain veneers are just what the name implies...thin facings of durable porcelain that are bonded to the front surface of your teeth.  And with Lumineers, little or no tooth preparation is needed to provide adequate thickness of the porcelain to be layered over your teeth.  Just think of it as a way to give your teeth a whole new and improved look!

Implant Restoration
Dental implants are small metal (titanium) cylinders that are placed in your mouth to provide a foundation for replacing missing teeth. Whether it’s just one tooth, several teeth, or a whole mouthful of teeth, dental implants often provide the most realistic looking and feeling replacement for missing teeth. And unlike using a “bridge” to replace missing teeth, implants are freestanding in that they don’t require attachment to adjacent teeth.  Implants may also be used to keep dentures from coming loose by attaching dentures to implants.  In order to provide the most predictable and long-lasting results, Beattie Family Dental places restorations on implants placed by local oral surgeons who are experienced in implant placement.

Periodontal
Periodontal disease is not overlooked at our office. We take your health seriously. Periodontal disease is an infection of the gums and the bone that surrounds the teeth.  It is caused by plaque and tartar buildup on the teeth and the germs associated with such buildup.  Recent, widespread, medical research has linked Periodontal Disease to serious health problems such as heart disease, stroke, low birth weight, respiratory problems, and difficulty in controlling diabetes. Treatment for periodontal disease depends on the severity of the disease, but always involves a thorough diagnosis and cleaning of the teeth.  We may also decide to place a highly effective antibiotic called Arestin directly around your teeth in more severely diseased areas. Your comfort is always our highest consideration.  We even have needleless anesthesia that we may use during your gum treatment. Our entire dental team, including our hygienists are trained to assist you in treating this common disease.

Restorative - White Fillings
Gone are the days of the old silver-mercury amalgam filling.  While those old fillings did the job in their day, much better and healthier options for fillings are available today.  For filling front teeth or small cavities on back teeth, composite resin, or plastic, fillings are used.  When a back tooth needs major restoration, CEREC ceramic inlays, onlays (just think of inlays or onlays as large fillings)  or crowns are the best option.

Root Canals
We have received special training in endodontics and are committed to offering our patients the best and most tooth-conserving technique in endodontics. Root canal therapy is not what it used to be. Thanks to new technology, many times your tooth can be saved. Our technique is comfortable and usually completed in one visit!

Treatment of Snoring and Sleep Apnea
The Drs. Beattie are able to help in the treatment of both snoring and sleep apnea.  This is done through the use of specially fabricated dental appliances that aid in preventing airway obstruction, the main cause of both snoring and sleep apnea.

Dentures
For patient needing the replacement of missing teeth, we are able to fabricate comfortable and realistic looking dentures to fit your needs.  From complete dentures, immediate dentures (placed at time of tooth extraction) or partials, we provide them all.  We also provide Vaslpast partials, which are metal-free and prevent the often unsightly metal wires associated with partials.

Extractions
The Drs. Beattie are experienced in the field of oral surgery (extractions) and are able to take out teeth. Special attention is paid to our patient’s comfort during tooth extraction, and the Drs. use their skills and knowledge of dental anesthesia to ensure a pain free extraction.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation
For our more anxious patients, nitrous oxide is available.  Nitrous oxide, also known as “laughing gas”, allows an anxious patient to enter a more calm condition, while remaining conscious.  Since patients using nitrous oxide remain conscious, the higher cost and  inconveniences of being put completely to sleep are avoided (needing a driver to and from the dentist).  Ask us whether nitrous oxide sedation would be a good choice for your dental treatment.
